The Kyrgyz State Medical Academy (KSMA), established in 1939, is a prestigious public university located in Bishkek, the capital city of Kyrgyzstan. It is recognized as the prime medical university among all medical colleges in the country and is highly regarded for its high academic standards.

KSMA has a faculty of over 540 members, many of whom have been trained in advanced medical universities in Russia and European countries. The academy offers a variety of programs, including postgraduate specializations in Surgery, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, and others.

The General Medicine program at KSMA is designed to produce physicians with specialization in selected areas. To meet this requirement, intensive Russian language courses are provided during the first two years of studies.

KSMA is also known for its international influence, enrolling dozens of students from foreign countries every year. The training at KSMA is primarily in the Russian language, so foreign applicants must undergo a relevant 6-9 months training at the preparatory department of KSMA. However, students studying general medicine in English are not required to go through Russian language courses prior to admission.

The academy is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and resources to deliver effective on-site training. It is recognized by WHO, FAIMER, IMED, and MCI, making it a globally acknowledged institution.

As a student at KSMA, you will be part of an institution that is not only a leader in medical education in Kyrgyzstan but also a dynamically developing higher educational institution in Central Asia. specialists of associated professions1939, KSMA has produced more than 25,000 physicians and specialists of associated professions.

Lastly, the academy is also known for its scientific activities and is considered the most influential expertise-based organization in the healthcare system of the Kyrgyz Republic. It provides consulting and expertise related services to a wide range of institutions both in the state and private sector of Kyrgyzstan.
