Start building a relevant network and connect with individuals who are already working in the field. This could be through LinkedIn or other professional networking platforms.

Next, ensure that your resume and cover letter are updated and tailored to highlight your skills and experiences relevant to product management. You should also consider applying for an associate product management internship role, which is often a stepping stone to a full-fledged product manager role.

In terms of finding available internships, there are several websites that you can use Glassdoor, Monster, Naukri, and Indeed are all platforms where you can find product management internships. As of October 25th, 2023, there were 67 product management internship jobs available in Pune, Maharashtra on Indeed.com.

The role of a product manager intern typically involves developing products or services that align with customer needs. You would work alongside experienced product managers to develop, manage, and launch innovative products. The average starting salary for a Product Management Intern in India is around ₹1.0 Lakhs per year (₹8.3k per month).

Depending on the company and industry, you might need about one to three years of entry-level industry experience before entering a product manager role. Look for a project coordinator or assistant job to gain experience and build valuable skills like organization and time management.

Finally, persistence is key. Rhea Patel, for instance, went through 30+ mock interviews, 100+ hours of study, and 25 informational interviews before landing her dream job. So, keep applying, keep learning, and don’t get discouraged if you don’t get a response immediately. Good luck with your search!
