The Martian Internship Program at Persistent Systems is an on-campus initiative designed to provide practical experience to students who are part of the 2023 batch. This program was offered in 2022 and presents an opportunity for participants to secure Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs) or full-time roles within the company. To be considered for the program, students had to undergo an assessment process.
The internship itself is structured as a 5-week virtual learning journey, with a tentative start date of May 2nd. Although there is no stipend provided, interns gain valuable knowledge and skills throughout the program. The curriculum covers essential topics such as Data Structures and Algorithms, Computer Networks, Python Programming Language, Operating Systems, and Database Management Systems (DBMS).
Candidates interested in the Martian Internship Program must meet certain academic criteria, including a minimum 60% score in their 10th, 12th, and undergraduate studies. The program specifically targets third-year BE/B.Tech students from Computer Science (CS) and Information Technology (IT) streams.
The selection process for the internship includes a cognitive and coding test, which lasts for 1 hour and 45 minutes. The test is divided into two parts: a 1-hour aptitude section and a 45-minute coding section where candidates solve two coding questions in their preferred programming language. This exam is conducted on the SHL platform.
After completing the internship, participants receive a certificate, and those who are interested in a PPO must go through further assessments followed by a technical interview. The technical interview typically lasts between 35 to 40 minutes and covers a range of topics from personal background to technical knowledge in areas like computer networking, programming languages, and object-oriented programming concepts.
Persistent Systems emphasizes the development of foundational skills during the internship, providing access to online learning resources, live sessions with tech experts, and a collaborative platform for peers to engage with each other.
