The Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) is a fully residential institution with campuses in Pilani, Goa, Hyderabad, and Dubai. The institute provides hostel accommodation to all its students, making it a common practice for students to reside on-campus. However, it’s important to note that while the institute provides hostel accommodation, permission to become a day-scholar may be granted under exceptional circumstances for students whose parents or close relatives are residents of Pilani. Therefore, while most students at BITS do stay on-campus in the provided hostels, there are exceptions based on individual circumstances.
The BITS campuses are equipped with several hostels for both boys and girls. For instance, the BIT Campus has 11 hostels for boys and 3 hostels for girls. These hostels are spacious and beautifully laid out amidst lush greenery. The hostel rooms are fully furnished and come with internet connectivity. Common room facilities with Cable TV and telephone are also available in each hostel. There is a kitchen-cum-mess unit for every set of two boys’ hostels. Additional facilities such as a Mess, Gymnasium, Supermarket, and a Clinic are available on the campus.
